This relies heavily on having the appropriate heroes and gear to allow for high mitigation of damage. An alternative strategy is to heal/shield your heroes throughout the fight. The Rowan champion, because he is very slow, he is susceptible to turn meter reduction + the decrease speed debuff, so if you do not have any hero that can reliably incapacitate him, consider reducing his attack rate. He will strike one target and another one at random. While he is the slowest, he is by far the hardest hitter, dealing around 55% of your hero’s max HP.
